Nakuru Lake (“Dust or Dusty Place” in the Maasai language), one of the salty lakes in the chain of lakes in eastern Africa’s Great Rift Valley. In Nakuru Town, this relatively shallow lake in central Kenya was created in 1961.
Waterbucks, impalas, and hippopotamuses can also be seen in Lake Nakuru, which is mostly famous for the enormous numbers of thousands, perhaps millions, of lesser flamingos that are drawn to the lake’s abundance of algae and nest along its beaches.
Swimming, boating, and fishing are not popular here!

Another fantastic day spent in the Masai Mara with the outstanding drivers and guides. The day began with a spectacular dawn, and then it was up close and personal lion and giraffe day. Absolutely amazing wildlife viewing.
We ate breakfast outside and took in the fresh air as it gradually dawned on us that we had seen the king of the jungle, and indeed, he behaved like a king.

Buffalos are among the most dangerous creatures, despite their outward appearance of calmness and harmony. They are listed among the Big 5 Game for a reason-it is every safari participant’s goal to see all five of them. Animals abound in Lake Nakuru, which is located north of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. Early in the morning, when the light is still soft and the air is still clear, it is especially lovely to observe the animals.
Several thousands of flamingos at the Kenyan lake Nakuru Lake Nakuru is home to millions of flamingos, who eat the abundant algae that grows in the lake’s warm, shallow waters. In order to maintain body heat, flamingos stand on one leg and tuck one leg into their feathers.
At Lake Nakuru, one of the primary feeding and breeding locations for the East African population of flamingos, thousands of flamingos congregate. The shallow waters of the alkaline lake are nutrient-rich. The algae that flamingos eat have stopped growing recently due to rising water levels. It is advisable to confirm with a local official if flamingos are what you are hoping to see on your vacation to East Africa. They have recently been seen in the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Magadi, Bogoria, and Oloidien.
